Home learning for Year 1 - Sparrows
Week Beginning 18th May
Dear Sparrows Parents and Children,
The idea is to do a lesson of Maths and a lesson of English each day to help with the routine of learning, to do the ‘frequently’ section a few times a week and then to do other Learning Journey and Science lessons when the mood is right across the week. I have also included an 'Other Learning' section, in case you wanted anything extra!
I hope you are all well, if you need to contact me for help/ a chat/ any form of support please feel free to do so via email- cp@harlandsprimary.org
Have fun and stay safe,
Miss Pooley.

● Practise reading common exception words using flashcards or spelling list (attached in Other Learning - English section)

English
In English this week we will be continuing to look at instructions. We will be using what we learnt last week to write a set of instructions about your chosen bake/ make. Phonics is a little bit different this week, I have decided to mix things up a bit by using the BBC bitesize phonics resources. I think the children will love them! All details are within the PowerPoint.

This week in Science we will be continuing our topic of Plants. This week I want you to explore outside, either in your garden or on your daily walk. How many trees do you see? What kinds of plants do you see? Complete the 'Plants and trees' sheet below.
I have also included an additional 'Plant and flower hunt' sheet to be complete after, as I know the children enjoy these types of activities.
